Our History

Our company was founded by Ken and Sally Hughes (the original K&S!) in 1974. From a modest beginning, they grew the company by listening to and responding to the needs of their customers. Over the years, we have moved from our tool and die beginnings into more and more of a full-range production metal part manufacturer and from a small one-shop location to multiple plants on two campuses with over 100 employees.

From the outset, the emphasis has been on outstanding quality and customer service. It is deeply embedded in our company culture that if we can design and document a sound process for manufacturing your product and then train our team members to this process, we can provide repeatable quality each and every time.

The company has always been at heart a family business with Ken and Sally’s family working in the business along the way. After working in the business growing up, second generation family member, Joe Hughes, returned to the company in 1987 full-time and continues the traditions started by Ken and Sally. Shortly thereafter Joe’s sister, Lisa Hughes Allen, joined as well. Finally, in 2017, Joe’s son, Adam Hughes, came on board to mark the third generation of the Hughes family moving the company forward into the future.
